JOB SUMMARY
This position is primarily responsible for maintaining grounds of industrial, commercial, or public property by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates supervisors, and staff members.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to the following: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Cuts lawns. Trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls. Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs. Sprays lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides. Rakes and bags or burns leave. Cleans grounds and removes litter. Shovels snow from walks and driveways. Spreads salt on public passageways to prevent ice buildup. Plants grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs. Waters lawn and shrubs. Repairs fences, gates, walls, and walks. Paints fences and outbuildings. Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts. May oversee the upkeep and maintenance of water features. Sharpens tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears. Makes minor repairs on equipment such as lawnmower, spreader, and snow removal equipment.
Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
To perform this role successfully, an individual must have experience achieving desired result(s) in their areas of responsibility. Ability to perform all Ground/Landscaping-related tasks and proficiently use job-related tools and equipment Ability to remain calm in various situations, use sound judgment and effectively solve problems Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedural manuals Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills Ability to follow instructions, prioritize and multi-task
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, License, Certifications, Experience High school diploma, General Education Degree or related training equivalent- required 1 year of relevant work experience in similar scope and title – preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment/conditions described herein are representative of those that an incumbent may experience. Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, without the use of a private office. Must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism & collaboration. Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of or less than 40 hours with or without notice.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to see, hear, reach, use fingers to handle and feel, stand, walk, stoop, bend and crouch for up to 8 hours on a daily basis.
