Medium Equipment Operator – Neighborhood Parks Maintenance Division City of Savannah – 3.8 Savannah, GA Job Details Full-time $40,682 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Mid-level Power tools 2 years Communication skills Full Job Description JOB The Medium Equipment Operator participates in the mowing and landscaping in the neighborhood parks and athletic fields. Including the operation of tractors, tractor implements, loaders, skid steers, mowers, and other associated equipment.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Maintains, inspects, and operates various hand and power tools and small equipment, such as weed trimmers, chainsaws, mowers, blowers, and hand tools. Removes litter, debris, weeds, and wild growth; cleans waste and empties trash receptacles; shovels soil, rock, mulch, leaves, and debris; loads materials on trucks. Performs general landscape maintenance, including blowing, weed eating, and spreading mulch. Maintains assigned equipment; completes minor repairs; washes and greases equipment. Digs trenches. Repairs irrigation lines and mainline breaks. Plants shrubs and trees. Trims hedges and prunes landscape plants. Applies mulch to landscape beds. Trims and pulls weeds. Rakes and blows leaves. Applies pesticides and fertilizers. Collects and removes litter. Performs other related duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Knowledge of maintenance and construction procedures, equipment, and materials. Knowledge of safe tractor operation and tractor implements. Knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques. Knowledge of turf grass care and maintenance. Knowledge of city and department policies and procedures. Knowledge of general maintenance and repair procedures. Skill in the operation of work-related equipment, including tractors, flatbed trucks, dump trucks, backhoes, trimmers, blowers, and front-end loaders. Skill in the operation of lawn maintenance equipment. Skill in the operation of hand and power tools. Skill in oral and written communication.
