This will be a full-time role based out of our Marietta, GA asphalt plant. This position reports to the Plant Manager. This may be a day or night shift position depending on business needs. This role is generally Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends and overtime as needed. If you are a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with a passion for solving problems and leading initiatives, with a desire to bring fresh ideas to strengthen internal and external relationships, please read the responsibilities and qualifications for the position below. Essential functions include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Summary:

The individual shall perform various duties within an asphalt plant to ensure operations run smoothly. Maintains excellent housekeeping around the plant by shoveling, performs repairs as needed to plant equipment, and performs preventative maintenance to keep the plant running.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist the plant foreperson with the daily operations and upkeep of the plant. Ability to access all areas of the plant to perform necessary maintenance and repairs. Perform welding and fabrication duties as required. Ability to operate a front-end loader safely and efficiently to move materials such as aggregate, sand, and recycled asphalt within the plant yard or job site. Conduct pre-operation inspections, report mechanical issues, and follow all safety protocols and site procedures. Ability to detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions and respond accordingly. Ability to follow directions.

Other Requirements:

Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times. Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary. Report to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start time. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual. Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA and company policy. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position: Coveralls, Fall Protection, Gloves, Welding Gloves, Hard Hat, Hearing Protection, Padlocks for Lockout/Tagout, Respiratory Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, Welding Aprons, Welding Helmet, Welding Shield. Education High School diploma or equivalent desired but not required.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving and mechanical parts and equipment. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Employees will be exposed to dust and fumes from cleaners, gasoline, diesel, exhaust, etc. Employees will work outdoors and will be exposed to the weather, including extremes in heat and cold, rain, etc.

Physical Demands:

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and requires manual dexterity and strength in arms and feet to manipulate equipment controls, tools, and other items used to make adjustments and/or minor maintenance. Will use hands, arms, back, and shoulders to handle, install, position, move items, and manipulate other objects. Could be in a standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting position for long periods of time. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by any applicant. This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Some weekend hours may be available as well. No travel is expected for this position.
