Full Job Description Position Summary:

The Lawn Crew is responsible for the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds surrounding a business or building. This role plants flowers, mows, pulls weeds, and maintains outside of building.

Scheduled Hours:

Typical work hours will be Monday through Thursday (7:00 am to 3:00 pm) and Fridays 8am-12pm.

Position Duties:

Perform grounds keeping and building maintenance duties. Mow lawn either by hand or using a riding lawnmower. Cut lawn using hand, power, or riding mower. Trim and edge around walkways, flowerbeds, and walls. Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes. Apply pesticide to rid grounds of pests such as mosquitos, wasps, ticks, and others. Apply fertilizer to the ground to enhance growth. Sweep walkway of debris. Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger. Trim shrubs and pull weeds. Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping. Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed. Water plants and grass as needed and apply fertilizer. Work in other areas as needed (Cajun Village, Throw Me Something Mister, and anywhere else needed). Complete trash pick-up, maintain fire hydrant(s), and delivery/pick-ups for Cajun Village. Performs other duties as deemed appropriate and as assigned by Director of Transportation and Maintenance.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None Education and Experience:

High School Diploma/GED preferred. Prior experience or work in lawn maintenance (preferred).

Valid Driver’s License/Chauffeur’s License Required Skills/Abilities:

Familiarity with common landscaping equipment. Reliable and self-motivated. Ability to organize, multi-task, plan, and set priorities. Ability to work independently and in team settings. Ability to effectively communicate, present information, and respond to questions both verbally and written.

Physical Requirements:

Frequently required to stand and walk. Must be able to lift upwards of 50 pounds. Must be able to bend, lift, and stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to work in indoors and outdoors environment including hot and cold weather.
