Job Summary :
Fitzgerald Outdoor Professionals is looking for dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our General Tree Care team as Groundworkers. In this role, you will assist in maintaining and preserving the health of trees and landscapes by supporting the crew in various tree care tasks. This position provides the opportunity to work outdoors, learn valuable skills, and gain experience in the tree care industry. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the tree care crew with all aspects of tree maintenance, including pruning, tree removals, and general landscape care.
- Support climbers by ensuring the safe lowering and handling of branches and debris.
- Operate and maintain ground-level equipment such as chainsaws, woodchippers, and stump grinders.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining safe work zones, including traffic and pedestrian management when necessary.
- Clean and organize job sites after tree care services are completed.
- Monitor the health of equipment and report any issues to supervisors.
- Work alongside team members to complete tasks efficiently and safely, following all safety protocols and procedures.
Qualifications :
- Familiarity with basic tree care equipment, such as chainsaws, woodchippers, and stump grinders, is a plus.
- Strong work ethic and ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team to ensure smooth operations.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills related to tree care, safety, and equipment operation.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to safety standards.
