Overview:
Creates and maintains a flawless landscapingenvironment for our guests. Maintains all lakes, streams, andornamental water systems according to health and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities:
Installs, maintains, feeds, prunes, trims, and waters a varietyof ornamental plants, trees, and shrubs in order to maintain abeautiful park and environment. Manually removes, installs, and maintains plant material inbeds and containers. Relocates specimen trees and shrubs. Designsor assists in design of landscaping beds. Cleans fountains and lakes as needed. Keeps gardens and greenspaces clear of debris. Operates machinery for loading, unloading, and transportingmaterials, equipment, and supplies. Installs and maintains the sprinkler and irrigation systemsthat keep parks, gardens, and various green spaces watered. Monitors irrigation lines so they can find a problem faster andkeeps a record of how the irrigation system performs. Maintains aesthetic quality and adequate clearances aroundrides, lighting, roadways, midways, signage, safety equipment, andother items. Assists with the control and removal of wild and feral animalsthat may encroach on Park property. Works safely with a variety of power trimming, mowing, andtilling equipment, such as mowers, edgers, string trimmers,tractors, tillers, etc. as required by job assignment. Operatesdifferent kinds of heavy machinery such as mowers, tractors, andtrenchers effectively and safely. Operates equipment that can include sprinklers, water lines,pumps, suction devices, valves, and other plumbing -equipment. Inspects premises to identify infestation source and extent ofdamage to property, wall, and roof porosity, and access to infestedlocations at parks. Exterminates unwanted creatures with the use of differenttechniques that are harmful to the pest. Sets different pest control methods like creating barriers toprevent pests from entering a building, setting mechanical traps,and placing poisonous paste or bait in sewers, burrows, andditches. Ensures a building free from pests by maintaining thestructural integrity of the building and ensuring the health andsafety of -occupants. Determines the type of treatment needed to eliminate the pestsand clean and remove blockages from infested areas to facilitatespraying procedure and provide drainage. Cleans work site aftercompletion of job. Interacts with and communicates with various groups andindividuals, such as the immediate supervisor, other Park managersand staff, co-workers, guests, vendors, contractors, inspectors,etc. Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards whenserving the guest, including initiating guest interactions,answering questions, and giving directions. Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area andperforms all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair safety guidelinesand requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions tosupervisor. Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights,weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs. Meets Cedar Fair’s attendance requirements as outlined in CedarFair’s attendance policies. Adheres to Cedar Fair’s code of conduct including costuming andgrooming standards as outlined in employees’ Guidelines and otherpark/division specific policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Good workingknowledge of type types of plants used in our parks and theirmaintenance requirements, such as water, prune, weed, andfertilizer. Good skills with using tools and equipment needed forlandscape work. Ability to understand and comply with requirementsfor the safe performance of work. Good verbal and writtencommunication skills.
Education:
High school graduate or equivalentpreferred.
License or Certification:
Valid driver’s license.
Canada:
Trade license or equivalent depending on trade.
Experience:
Typically requires 2-4 years of gardening or landscapingexperience.
Equivalency:
Directly related experience or acombination of directly related education and experience and/orcompetencies may be considered in place of the aboverequirements.
