Vineyard/Estate Part Time Crew Member Marked Tree Winery 623 Deep Gap Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731 Marked Tree Vineyard is a family-owned winery located on the Continental Divide in Flat Rock, NC. Our award-winning wines are all estate grown and our vibe is modern, clean, and sophisticated. This part time vineyard/estate crew member will provide seasonal support to the vineyard team in the maintenance of the plants, trellis system, and overall caretaking of the estate grounds. Duties may include, but are not limited to, pruning; vine planting and training; trellis and canopy management; selection and harvesting grapes; and operating company vehicles and some machinery. As well as, mowing, maintaining, and improving areas of the estate.

Job Duties:

Mowing, maintaining, and improving grounds of the estate Pruning, hedging, leaf pulling, and trellis building/maintenance Performs other basic grounds maintenance duties including but not limited to: general cleanup, trash removal, weeding, sawing, hauling and handling brush Performs basic gardening duties, including but not limited to: preparing beds and installing plants, maintaining planted areas by cultivation, weeding, watering, limited pest control, mulching and staking Safely and efficiently operates various hand tools including shovels, rakes, hoes, hand saws, shears, and clippers Helping prepare vehicles, equipment, and tools during harvest Monitor performance of equipment and reporting it to supervisory staff should repair be needed. Always remain alert to any environmental conditions. Helping with special events and projects as required Follow and observe all safety measures

Qualifications:

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team Self-motivated with the ability to work efficiently and productively Strong planning, organization and time management skills Ability to operate small gardening equipment and machinery safely (tractors, mowers, etc.) and associated motorized equipment Previous experience working in a vineyard or related field preferred Solid knowledge and interest of plant care and maintenance related to grapevines and vineyard operations is appreciated but not required Spanish speaking is preferred

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly Ability to kneel, stoop, bend, reach overhead and below Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time Ability to work outside in fluctuating temperatures and conditions Applicants must: Be least 18 years old Have a valid Driver’s License Pass a drug screen and background check This position will initially be for 1-3 days per week (days vary based on weather) with early morning or evening availability during harvest season Please email your resume and a brief cover letter explaining why you will make a good addition to our vineyard team
