Job Description
Experienced Tree Work Groundsman J&D Tree Pros, Inc. 2590 Farrington Road, Apex, NC 27523 Valid, Clean driver’s license required and experience working in tree industry (preferred). Operate all equipment including chainsaws, chipper, etc. following ANSI safety standards. Upon completion of job use blower to clean decks, sidewalks, yard furniture and driveway. Drag/carry limb debris of various size/weight and feed it into the chipper. Grease chipper and inspect chipper knives. Inform driver or change knives if they need to be changed. Ensure truck is stocked with required materials (mix, bar oil, grease, rotella, etc.) Gather dull chains, replace with new or sharpened chains and hang in designated location in shop. Collect chains and put back in truck in designated location by amount and sizes. Check fluids in chipper, oil, hdryo, coolant, air filters, clean dust traps and check tires. Top off saw with gas and oil. Check chain for tension and sharpness. Unload yard tools, saws, put out road signs if applicable. Assist in distribution of plywood when required for job. Assist in cleaning up of jobsite when job is completed.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to tree removal operations. Working knowledge of the methods, materials and tools used in tree removal work. Ability to stand for long periods of time and to lift branches weighing over 20 lbs. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with other employees, supervisors and the public (including customers). Ability to observe proper ANSI safety precautions. Ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and the public.
