Job Summary:

As a Landscape Crew Member at Pines and Pavers, you will be introduced to a wide range of landscaping skills, from basic maintenance tasks to advanced landscape design and hardscaping techniques. This entry-level position is designed for individuals who are eager to learn the trade, gain hands-on experience, and grow into a skilled landscaper. You will work closely with experienced crew members to develop your expertise in landscape maintenance, installation, and hardscaping projects while receiving on-the-job training.

Key Responsibilities:

Landscape Installation & Maintenance:

○ Assist in basic landscape maintenance tasks, including trimming, edging, and mulching. ○ Help with planting flowers, shrubs, trees, and ground cover.

Hardscaping Support:

○ Assist in the installation of hardscaping features like pavers, patios, walkways, and retaining walls. ○ Help with surface preparation, leveling, and compacting materials for hardscape installations. ○ Learn proper techniques for measuring and laying pavers and other hardscaping elements.

Tools and Equipment Operation:

○ Learn to safely operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as trimmers, blowers, and small machinery. ○ Assist with the setup and cleanup of job sites, ensuring tools and equipment are organized and in good working order.

Team Collaboration:

○ Work closely with the landscape crew to complete projects in a timely and professional manner. ○ Follow instructions from senior crew members and supervisors. ○ Participate in team meetings and trainings to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Safety & Best Practices:

○ Follow all safety protocols and practices to ensure the well-being of yourself and your team. ○ Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. ○ Maintain a clean and organized work environment, free of hazards.

Learning and Development:

○ Actively participate in ongoing training and mentorship to learn about plants, landscaping techniques, design principles, and hardscaping. ○ Take advantage of opportunities for certification in areas such as equipment operation.

Skills and Qualifications:

Required:

○ Strong interest in landscaping and a desire to learn the trade. ○ Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor environments, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. ○ Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to take direction and learn from experienced crew members. ○ Basic understanding of safety procedures and the ability to follow them. ○ Reliable transportation to and from work.

Preferred:

○ Previous experience in landscaping or outdoor work (though not required). ○ Basic knowledge of plants, garden care, and landscape maintenance. ○ Familiarity with landscaping tools and equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and work on your feet for long periods.
• Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including repetitive tasks.
