WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The ideal Grounds Team Member for Bear Creek is a guest service focused individual with the ability to help create a positive, memorable experience for our guests. The successful team member will be able to work with their team as well as individually, have good communication skills, be detail oriented and foster the Bear Creek culture by focusing on our guests. This position will be an important member of the Grounds team, ensuring upkeep of the resort, enhancing the beauty of the resort and fulfilling responsibilities throughout to maintain the resort.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

Perform groundskeeping and exterior building maintenance based on assigned work orders Mow lawn areas once a week or as needed using riding mowers, walk behind mowers, or weed whackers. Trim and edge around walkways, flower beds, and walls Landscape beds by planting flowers, grasses, shrubs, and trees Edge, prepare, and mulch flower beds on a yearly basis either by hand or with a mulch blower Plant seasonal annual flowers for spring, summer, and fall Water plants and grass as needed and apply fertilizer Maintain and adjust irrigation system to weather forecast Trim shrubs, clean up leaves, and pull weeds as needed Maintain and clean water features throughout the season Pressure wash walkways and walls on an as needed basis Install exterior furniture, umbrellas, heaters, and fire pits depending on the season Install and remove seasonal signs, ski racks, trash cans and parking lot ropes Pick up trash and empty exterior trash receptacles. Remove natural and manmade snow from parking lots and walkways with a plow, skid loader, backhoe, snowblower, ventrac, or shovel Spread salt and ice melt to ensure adequate traction for vehicular traffic and to prevent guests and employees from falling Assist with large events and work with the sales team to ensure wedding ceremony sites are set up and ready for all weddings Help with holiday decorating both inside and outside, hanging wreaths and setting up trees

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM ALL BCMR TEAM MEMBERS

Acknowledge all guests and respond promptly to their needs, however busy and whatever time of day. Ensure unresolved incidents are reported to Manager/Supervisor Familiarity with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately Contribute to the team’s success by accomplishing tasks and assisting with projects as needed Maintain knowledge and compliance with departmental policies, service procedures, and standards Work as a team member to ensure our guests have the best possible experience Understand emergency procedures and be able to apply them when necessary Report any incidents, property damage or injuries immediately to Manager/Supervisor Attend department meetings and training sessions as necessary Other duties as assigned by Manager and/or Supervisor Support Southern Management’s Mission, Vision, and Values Comply with Bear Creek and Southern Management’s policies and procedures

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS

1 year demonstrated experience in landscaping preferred High School Diploma or equivalent required Availability during peak operating times, i.e.: weekends, holidays and special events

JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Experience operating standard landscape equipment preferred Compute basic arithmetic and mathematical calculations Organized and detail oriented Excellent time management skills Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in stressful, high-pressure situations while maintaining composure and guest satisfaction

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
