Summary:

With the health and playability of the turfgrass on the golf course being a major priority, it is important that all fertilizers and pesticides are applied at labeled rates. In conjunction with the Golf Course Superintendents, the Spray Technician will be responsible for applying fertilizers and pesticides throughout the golf course while also assisting with any other maintenance requirements on the course.

Essential Functions :

Job duties include, although are not limited to: Calibrate, maintain and operate John Deere GPS Sprayers Calibrate, maintain and Operate Lely spreaders Apply, store and organize pesticides and fertilizers in accordance to South Carolina regulations Maintain knowledge of pesticides and fertilizers mode of action and safety precautions Maintain and organize all application equipment Monitor mix tank for proper working condition Clean and Organize mix and load stations Organize and inventory fertilizers and pesticides Report equipment issues to mechanic team immediately Use all PPE as trained and required Organize and maintain all push spreaders Clean and organize all storage areas for fertilizers and pesticides Assist in all areas of GCM as required by superintendent

Qualifications:

Strong interpersonal skills; team orientated Desire to serve and create lifelong memories Previous experience in GCM required A degree in Turf Management desired Ability to obtain a South Carolina Pesticide Applicators License within 6 months of hire Love for the game of golf preferred Ability to comprehend instructions given in English or Spanish Ability to work 5 days a week, weekends and holidays Perform job responsibilities and operate equipment according to the company safety and training programs

Physical Requirements:

Majority of tasks are performed outdoors in variable weather conditions, including hot, cold, windy and rainy. Temperatures can be extreme but are usually moderate. Frequently works near moving/mechanical parts. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to reach with arms and hands, bend and stoop, remain at post standing for periods of time, walk for a long distance, and is required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
