Job Summary:
The Grounds Staff are key members of the course maintenance team and is responsible for the landscaping and maintenance around the golf course.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains clean and organized works areas on the golf course and maintenance facility Mows greens, aprons, fairways, roughs, tees, and other areas Waters tees, greens and fairways; operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water Repairs the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as needed Grades and prepares soil base, lays sod and seeds greens, tees and fairways Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower beds Applies pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers to the golf course Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Experience and Skill Requirements:
Must possess the ability design, coordinate, and maintain landscaping on the golf course Must possess the ability to create spray programs for the golf course including greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and landscaping Must possess the ability to operate all tools and equipment related to golf course operations Ability to give oral and written instructions Skilled in seeding, fertilizing, mulching, and general ground preparation for restoration and renovation Must be dependable
Working Condition:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is often required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls. They will occasionally be required to balance, stoop, twist upper body, kneel, and climb. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 30lbs occasionally. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perception.
