Under occasional supervision, maintains all parks, public grounds and rights-of-way, for the Town of Lexington. This position performs general landscape maintenance, including but not limited to installing trees and other plant materials, removing dead trees and limbs, applying fertilizers, mulching beds in Town parks, grounds and rights-of-way as assigned. Provides leadership of assigned crew members. Applicant must be able to perform tasks that involve physically demanding work including lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 50 pounds), and occasionally heavier items (up to 65 pounds). Performs other technical and manual labor as required. This position requires an Associate’s Degree in Horticulture or other relevant field supplemented by two years of experience in landscape installation and maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Applicant must have a valid SC Class D driver’s license and maintain a class “B” CDL License and Pesticide Applicators License (Ornamental and Turf).
