Job Summary:

The Tree Service Groundsman is responsible for assisting with all aspects of tree care operations from the ground, ensuring safety and efficiency during tree removal, pruning, and maintenance tasks.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Site Preparation and Cleanup:

Setting up work zones, clearing debris, and ensuring a safe and organized work environment.

Assisting Climbers:

Supporting tree climbers by setting up ropes, rigging equipment, and providing ground support during tree work.

Equipment Operation and Maintenance:

Safely operating and maintaining various tree care equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and bucket truck.

Brush and Debris Removal:

Collecting, hauling, and disposing of tree branches, logs, and other debris.

Safety Procedures:

Adhering to safety protocols, including work zone safety procedures and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Communication and Teamwork:

Communicating effectively with team members, clients, and superiors to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Physical Tasks:

Performing demanding physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving heavy materials.

Equipment Inspection and Repair:

Inspecting tools and equipment, performing basic repairs and maintenance when necessary.

Learning and Development:

Learning new skills and techniques related to tree care and progressing within the company.

Requirements:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent is generally preferred.

Experience:

Experience in tree care or related field is often preferred, with on-the-job training provided.

Physical Fitness:

Good physical strength and stamina are essential for lifting, carrying, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Safety Commitment:

A strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols is crucial.

Communication and Teamwork Skills:

Excellent communication and teamwork skills are needed to work effectively with others.

Driver’s License:

A valid driver’s license is often required for transporting equipment and materials.

Problem-Solving Skills:

Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems that may arise during tree care operations.

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds). Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods. Ability to work in various weather conditions. Pay determined by experience . On site training, and potential to grow .

From $16.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 – 75 per week
