Landscape Gardener Irrigation & Pesticide Technician Position Available In Lake, Florida

Landscape Gardener – Irrigation & Pesticide Technician Lakeside Inn – Mount Dora Do you love plants and enjoy working outdoors in beautiful surroundings? We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Landscape Gardener to maintain the grounds of our historic hotel. This is a full-time position requiring extensive plant knowledge , along with hands-on experience in irrigation systems and pesticide application . A valid pesticide applicator license is required. Responsibilities Care for a variety of plants, shrubs, trees, and lawns across the hotel property Perform tasks such as digging, mulching, watering, raking, weeding, edging, pruning, and planting Operate and maintain irrigation systems; perform troubleshooting and minor repairs Safely apply pesticides and herbicides in compliance with regulations Conduct general maintenance of outdoor areas including trimming and litter pickup Power wash exterior walkways and surfaces as needed Monitor plant health and suggest improvements Assist with lakeshore maintenance and seasonal planting projects Support other landscaping or property maintenance duties as assigned Requirements A genuine love for plants and strong horticulture knowledge At least 2 years of experience in landscaping or groundskeeping Valid Florida Pesticide Applicator License (required) Experience with irrigation system operation and repair Ability to work independently and follow directions with minimal supervision Good communication skills and a professional demeanor with staff and guests Physically fit and capable of lifting, kneeling, walking, and working outdoors in all weather High attention to detail and pride in maintaining beautiful grounds High school diploma or equivalent Experience with lakeshore maintenance is a plus
