Flower Installer & Bedding Technician Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Landscape Flower Installer & Bedding Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for layout, installation, and maintenance of annual flower beds without supervision. Candidate will work both independently and with crews to maintain healthy flowerbeds, trees, shrubs, and other landscaping elements. This role requires knowledge of plant health, pest control, and safety regulations related to chemical applications. The technician must ensure the proper handling and application of all materials while delivering excellent customer service. Position is part time 20-30 hours per week with possibility of full time for a skilled candidate.

Responsibilities:

Determine layout of flower beds with accurate consideration of soil, light, drainage, spacing, depth and other needs of all installed flowers. Regular application of fertilizers to flower beds. Watering and hand weeding flower beds as needed. Apply fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, and other treatments to flowers, trees, and shrubs. Identify plant diseases, pests, and nutrient deficiencies to recommend appropriate treatments. Follow state and federal regulations regarding chemical applications. Maintain accurate records of chemical applications and treatments performed. Assist crews with hand pruning shrubs and dead heading flowers. Communicate with customers to provide information on treatments, safety precautions, and aftercare recommendations. Collaborate with landscape maintenance teams to ensure cohesive landscape care. Stay up to date on industry best practices and emerging trends in plant care and pest control.

Qualifications & Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. Must have knowledge and experience with handling and planting annual/perennial flowers. Knowledge and experience in designing layouts of flower beds to meet the requirements of all florae to be installed. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to have own transportation to and from work. Florida certification in pesticide application is preferred. Previous experience in lawn care and pest control is a plus. Knowledge of plant species, pests, and common landscape diseases. Ability to read and follow chemical labels, application guidelines, and safety procedures. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and stand/kneel for extended periods. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Must be able to pass any required state licensing exams for pesticide application (if applicable).

Work Environment:

Outdoor work in varying weather conditions including heat. Exposure to chemicals, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Frequent lifting, bending, and physical labor.

Work Schedule:

As needed hours Mon- Fri, 7am – 4pm to be determined by seasonal planting, watering, fertilizing schedules. Schedules subject to change, some Saturdays may be required depending on location
