Lawn Fertilizer Technician Position Overview :

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Lawn Fertilizer Technician to join our partner’s team. This role is responsible for the application of fertilizers, herbicides, and pest control treatments to ensure the health and appearance of residential and commercial lawns. The ideal candidate will be skilled in diagnosing lawn issues, operating application equipment, and adhering to industry safety and compliance standards, all while delivering exceptional customer service and lawn care education.

Key Responsibilities:
Lawn Fertilization & Treatment:

Develop and implement tailored fertilization programs based on grass type, seasonal requirements, and soil analysis results. Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and other treatments accurately and efficiently using advanced application equipment. Monitor lawn conditions regularly and modify treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal lawn health and appearance.

Pest, Weed & Disease Management:

Identify signs of turf pests, invasive weeds, and lawn diseases. Apply targeted and environmentally responsible pest control solutions. Stay informed about integrated pest management (IPM) techniques and emerging treatment trends.

Equipment Operation & Maintenance:

Safely operate, calibrate, and maintain application equipment to ensure accurate and effective treatment. Conduct regular inspections, perform routine maintenance, and troubleshoot equipment issues. Ensure all equipment is clean, well-maintained, and in compliance with safety standards.

Compliance, Safety & Environmental Stewardship:

Follow all company, state, and federal safety regulations regarding the handling and application of pesticides and fertilizers. Use protective gear and equipment as required. Maintain awareness of environmental impact and practice sustainable lawn care methods.

Customer Service & Client Education:

Communicate professionally with clients to explain treatment plans, answer questions, and provide guidance on proper lawn care practices. Address client concerns promptly and provide knowledgeable, helpful solutions. Foster long-term relationships built on trust, reliability, and exceptional service.

Team Collaboration & Documentation:

Coordinate with team members to optimize scheduling and lawn care strategies. Accurately maintain records of all treatments, observations, applications, and follow-up requirements. Share insights and recommendations to continuously improve service outcomes.

Qualifications:

Prior experience in lawn care, horticulture, landscaping, or a related field is preferred Valid pesticide applicator’s license or ability to obtain one (as required by state regulations) Strong attention to detail and ability to diagnose lawn health issues Mechanical aptitude for handling and maintaining equipment Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
