This is a part time position without benefits The Bartlett Animal Shelter has an opening for a part-time Animal Shelter Technician. Schedule is subject to change depending upon workload and will include weekends and holidays. Will assist with walking dogs, adoption process, cleaning cat cages, cleaning dog cages and runs, washing dishes and laundry, bathing animals, daily feeding and watering of animals, cleaning of interior of building and outside grounds, keeping storage area organized and assisting shelter staff with other duties as may be assigned. Requires the ability to perform active physical work, including the ability to lift 50 lbs. under various environmental conditions. Working knowledge of operating procedures. Ability to read and understand operation manuals and chemical application instructions. Requires the ability to answer phones and take messages. Experience with animals preferred, but not required. Computer skills helpful, but not required. Bartlett resident preferred. Will work in a smoke-free environment. All Public/ Works employees are Emergency Response Personnel and as such may be called upon to provide or assist with emergency services during a disaster. Must have a High School diploma or GED. Must possess a valid Class D Driver’s License, which must remain valid as a condition of continued employment. Must pass a background check, driver’s license check and physical exam, including a drug screen.
