Responsibilities Manage day to day operation of the Horticulture Division Design and install garden, planters and window boxes Maintain perennial and annual gardens including, but not limited to, fertilization, pest control, cut backs, deadheading, staking, watering and weeding Maintain rose care program Oversee maintenance of greenhouse and plant stock, maintaining the horticultural health of plants Achieve Gross Margin as outlined in the budget plan.

Measured by:

Ensure that we reach up-sell goals in Horticulture (as outlined in budget) Grow the Bed Maintenance revenue line through improving the existing program, expanding existing customers knowledge of the service and increasing the services we offer to create “on site sales” from foremen. Ensure horticulture crews are performing high quality landscape work to customer expectations YTD Revenue Hours to Budget YTD Winners & Losers to Budget Average Hourly Crew Wage and Material Markups P&L Statement Ensure crews are performing high-quality landscape and horticulture work that meets or exceeds customer expectations.

Measured by:

Renewals to Budget Quality inspections of work performed, including lawn maintenance, bed care, pruning, and planting, with proper feedback and coaching of field staff Credits issued for work not meeting standards Warranty work orders issued due to poor-quality work or callbacks Non-productive labor budget to plan Customer complaints Coach, develop, and hold accountable direct reports to ensure they meet performance goals and adhere to best practices in landscape production and horticulture.

Measured by:

Building and maintaining a team of “A” players with skills in mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and enhancement installation Two written performance reviews (2 performance/1 financial) for each assigned foreman and crew member per year Delivering consistent feedback tied to operational goals, workmanship, and crew productivity Achieve employee retention goal of 70% Manage the schedule board with the Account Manager to meet customer expectations and maximize crew efficiency.

Measured by:

All spring services—including spring clean up, bed prep, mulch installation, and early enhancements—scheduled prior to season start, with clear communication to the customer base Maintaining a minimum of three weeks of scheduled work on the board at all times No non-renewed work on boards within seven (7) days Maintaining accurate backlog calendars to allow the Account Manager and Sales to communicate effectively with customers Ensure consistent communication with customers to build long-term, quality relationships.

Measured by:

Customer contract renewals and cancellations Achieving enhancement and add-on sales goals (e.g., lawn renovations, mulch, new plantings, or cleanup services) Ensure completion of accurate and timely paperwork.

Measured by:

Submitting timesheets by 10:00 A.M. the following business day Performing work only with an appropriate, signed work order Using a purchase order # before any COGS purchases (e.g., materials, turf products, plants) No credits issued as a result of incomplete or missing documentation Ensure all assigned vehicles and equipment are in good operating condition and properly maintained by crews.

Measured by:

Keeping the repair board current and maintaining communication with the Fleet Mechanic Staying within equipment line budgets Ensuring that mowing units, blowers, trimmers, and installation tools are clean, functional, and accounted for Play a lead role in the company snow operation.
