Life’s WORC is offering a fantastic leadership opportunity as our Director of Nursing ! This pivotal role will allow you to make a lasting impact on the healthcare of individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism, all while enjoying a rewarding and fulfilling career. This role will cover residential locations in Nassau and Suffolk County , NY , and offers a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday (8 am – 4 pm or 9 am – 5 pm). Flexibility is essential, as you will be required to respond to emergency situations during on-call hours via phone, Monday through Friday (Phone triage) .

Lead a dedicated team while ensuring high-quality healthcare for individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Residential Nurses:
Directly supervise Residential Nurses in assigned cluster areas, providing coaching, collaboration, and support.
Training & Development:
Work closely with the RN Educator to ensure AMAP certification, training, and ongoing education for all nursing staff. Develop and implement specialized medical training, including medical guidelines and procedures.
Regulatory Compliance:
Monitor and ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations, treatment protocols, and documentation standards.
Hospital Discharge Planning:
Oversee the discharge process for hospitalized individuals in the assigned cluster. Work with hospital personnel and assist in training staff on post-discharge care.
On-Call Availability:
Provide on-call support during emergencies via phone triage from Monday 7am-Friday 3pm.
Qualifications:
Licensed Registered Nurse:
Must be a current NYS Licensed RN. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of five years of nursing experience, with at least three years in the Intellectual Disabilities/Developmental Disabilities (ID/DD) field.
Leadership Experience:
Previous experience in a supervisory or quality assurance role is preferred.
Knowledge of OPWDD Regulations:
Familiarity with OPWDD standards and regulations is highly desirable.
Driver’s License:
A valid New York State driver’s license is required. Experience with

Experience working with individuals with Autism is a plus.
