Full Job Description Position Overview:

The Nursery Ministry Leader creates a welcoming, safe, and loving environment for young children (infants through age 4) during Sunday morning services. This individual implements prepared lessons, crafts, videos, and activities that are provided by the Children’s Ministry Director. The Nursery Ministry Leader ensures the nursery is safe, clean, organized, and nurtures early faith experiences for little ones. This role supports and aligns with the mission of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and the vision of Ebenezer’s Children’s Ministry to help children grow in faith, love, and understanding of God. This is a part time position working Sunday mornings, 8:30am-12:30pm, and occasional events such as Spring and Fall Festival, VBS, Santa Breakfast, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

Welcome children and families warmly, creating a sense of belonging and safety. Implement provided short Bible lessons, crafts, activities, and videos during nursery time. Supervise free play, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment at all times. Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting nursery space before and after services. Be adaptable and flexible to changes in schedule, environment, or needs within the nursery ministry. Follow all safety, check-in, and health procedures, including diapering and toileting policies. Report any incidents, needs, or concerns directly to the Children’s Ministry Director. Build positive relationships with children, families, and volunteers. Communicate any supply needs or curriculum questions promptly.

Qualifications:

Love for children and a desire to help nurture early faith development. Previous experience caring for young children in a similar environment. Ability to physically lift and carry children when needed (up to 30 pounds). Must be able to move freely, including getting up and down from the floor, to actively engage with children and ensure their safety. Reliable, punctual, and able to work Sunday mornings consistently. Strong communication skills and ability to follow provided curriculum and instructions. Commitment to Safe Sanctuaries Policy.
