Park Ranger (Part-Time) Village of North Palm Beach (FL) North Palm Beach, FL Job Details Part-time $20.11 – $32.17 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications CPR Certification 2 years Entry level Full Job Description JOB First Review Of Candidates will occur on 5/15/2025•The Park Ranger ensures the safety of park patrons by protecting and securing all Village parks, recreational facilities and designated parking locations. The Ranger serves in a community public relations capacity by properly interpreting park rules and regulations and educating park patrons regarding code and ordinance enforcement in conjunction with monitoring parking areas and issuing parking violations as necessary.
Must be available to work the following days and times: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PMSunday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Patrols all parks and recreational areas to include on-site/off-site parking locations, using a Village-owned, street-legal golf cart to enforce applicable laws and ordinances associated with park regulations, parking enforcement and safety measures.
Renders emergency first aid, CPR and rescue assistance as needed.
Secures park and recreational areas as well as park facilities by locking gates, restroom doors, etc.
Meets the public and provides information concerning park facilities, park rules and regulations and other matters of public interest.
Assists in the recovery of lost children and property.
Corrects and/or reports any conditions that involve damage, theft, vandalism or hazards.
Monitors security of parked cars, issues parking citations and requests towing services within the confines of the Village.
Directs vehicle and boat traffic inside park boundaries and aids motorists and boaters as required.
Prepares accurate and thoroughly written records and reports.
Provides assistance such as crowd control and parking management at Village-sponsored or departmental special events.(The above list of essential functions is not meant to be all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.)
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Tasks require the ability to exert moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling and may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 50 lbs.). In addition, employees must be able to wear a hard hat/helmet, safety harness/vest, CPR mask, and rubber gloves as necessary.
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, fumes, extreme temperatures and noise, moving mechanical parts, traffic hazards, toxic agents, and blood borne pathogens. Work is regularly performed outdoors with potential exposure to very high temperatures, insect bites and animals.
