Recreation Leader – Walnut Creek Wetland Center 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars Walnut Creek, NC JOB The Recreation Leader performs a variety of tasks including park operations, environmental programming and natural resource management at Walnut Creek Wetland Park. This position is a key member of our staff and contributes to our team effort to serve the public by providing courteous customer service and protecting our natural areas.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Primary Job Duties:

Open and/or close parkRespond to patrons’ questions and rental inquiriesReinforce Park policies through educationProvide support for drop in programming, including handling animal ambassadors, providing park history and delivering free servicesPerform animal care dutiesContribute to the implementation of special events and nature programmingMaintain trails, gardens, bird feeders, and nest boxesParticipate in wildlife monitoring and natural resource inventory initiativesWork alongside volunteer groupsPerform maintenance, field work, and custodial dutiesAssess and address safety concerns and serve as part of parks’ emergency response team

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

Position Hours:

This is a 15-20 hour per week position with weekend, holiday, and evening hours required. Schedule will vary due to park programs and needs.
