We are currently seeking a dedicated, organized, and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Park Resource Ranger with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The Park Resource Ranger at Hills Creek State Park is responsible for a wide array of duties that prioritize public safety, the protection of park facilities, visitor support, and adherence to regulations. To ensure the safety of all visitors, the ranger conducts regular patrols throughout the park, either on foot or by vehicle, to identify potential hazards that could compromise health and safety. This proactive approach involves inspecting buildings and the surrounding grounds for any risks, addressing these issues promptly, and reporting them to a supervisor for further action. The ranger also plays a crucial role in monitoring visitor activities to ensure that park amenities are used appropriately, while taking measures to secure buildings and equipment against vandalism and theft. In addition to these safety and security responsibilities, the ranger serves as a vital resource for visitors, providing them with important information regarding park facilities, available activities, rules, and nearby attractions. Furthermore, the ranger is trained to deliver emergency care, including CPR and First Aid, and is equipped to assist in locating lost individuals, thereby enhancing the overall safety and enjoyment of the park experience for all guests.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
This is a seasonal, full-time position without benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2025 until November 2025 at which time the employee is placed on leave without pay. Shift hours and days vary due to operational need, with a 30-minute lunchWeekends, holidays, and all shifts as needed at 37.5 hours per week
