Role:

Oversees the safety and security of the Museum’s staff and visitors and provides maintenance of the building and grounds during weekend hours. The candidate will patrol the premises to ensure cleanliness and safety for our staff and visitors, manage weekend cleaning operations, support event activities, and provide on-call assistance for our nearby rental property. The candidate will report to the Facilities Manager and the COO and work closely with our Visitor Services and Events teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Support Week-end Visitor Services and Event staff and provide building security during visitor hours Responsible for set-ups/staging and de-installations of museum community spaces for events setups and some weekday evenings (as requested) Monitor heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Complete weekend maintenance projects as assigned. Assist with weekend events in coordination with Visitor Services and Events teams. Supervise weekend cleaning staff and outside cleaning contractors. Ensure that Museum grounds are clean, safe, and well-maintained.

Qualifications:

Associate Degree preferred, or 2-4 years of progressive related experience. Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and maintenance systems. Computer and technology skills; ability to operate facility systems and security cameras. Familiarity with safety, cleaning, and security protocols. Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs. and work in varying weather conditions. Must be reliable, available to work weekends and evenings, and hold a valid PA driver’s license.
