Pest Control & Fertilizer Technician Job Overview:
We are currently looking for a motivated and dependable individual to fill the position of Pest Control & Fertilizer Technician. In this role, you will provide pest control and fertilization services for both residential and commercial clients, ensuring services are completed safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Apply pesticides to both residential and commercial properties according to scheduled times, safety guidelines, and specific customer requests.
- Complete required pesticide application records at the end of each service route.
- Maintain the company vehicle and equipment in proper working order and ensure they remain clean and functional.
- Assist with sales efforts by engaging with current customers on your route, identifying additional services they may need, and recommending tailored solutions to improve their outdoor spaces.
- Apply fertilizers and weed control treatments to customer lawns based on recommended application rates.
- Diagnose and treat lawn diseases and pest problems, identifying issues such as fungal infections, insect infestations, or environmental stress.
- Provide advice on the care and maintenance of lawns and trees, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and understand simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Basic writing skills for composing simple correspondence.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly in individual and small group settings.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to calculate pesticide application rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
