JOB DESCRIPTION JOB GOAL
To provide skilled work in pest control management, and to maintain fire extinguisher equipment within the District.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited high school or trade school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Three (3) years’ experience in insect and pest control involving handling application of insecticides and pesticides. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of the properties, use, storage and effect of chemicals used in the control of insects and pests. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the pest control trade. Knowledge of all types of fire- fighting equipment. Knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to the kind, use and parts required to keep extinguishing equipment in good repair. Ability to work with limited supervision. Ability to keep accurate records. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to work under various conditions to complete necessary jobs. Ability to meet deadlines with severe time constraints.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspect District structures to determine the extent of insect or pest infestation. Outline and implement a program of eradication and control for insects or pests. Inspect and properly tag all fire extinguishers annually. Repair and recharge extinguishers as required. Make repair or replacement determination. Clean and maintain equipment and working space. Report all safety hazards to Lead/Manager in a timely manner. May be required to interact with State, Federal and local governing agencies, i.e. Animal Control, DEP, EPA. Maintain accurate records of daily work and time and payroll information. Follow safety standards in performing work and report unsafe conditions to Lead/Manager in a timely manner. May be required to work after hours and/or weekends. Travel outside of Manatee County as required in the performance of duties. Perform other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job the employee works both inside and outside. The employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints. Requires lifting, holding, carrying, sitting, standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity. The noise level in the work environment can be high at times. The employee frequently will work irregular or extended work hours while performing the duties of this job. Safety is the highest priority.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
