Mosquito Control Technician Tuxedo Mosquitio Control 1733 Telfair Way, Charleston, SC 29412 A Technician for Tuxedo Mosquito Control is engaged in daily spray treatments for mosquitoes utilizing a backpack style sprayer primarily in residential applications. A typical spray treatment will take an average between 10 to 20 minutes per application, depending on the size of the property. The backpack style sprayer will weigh around 60 lbs when full, so Technicians must be able to handle this weight during the duration of applications. The Technician will on occasion be dispatched to install an electronically controlled misting system on a customer’s property. The entire system consists of the machine cabinet along with misting nozzles and supports. The quantity of nozzles will vary from site to site. Average installation time requirement is approximately 3 to 4 hours per system. Previously installed misting systems require periodic maintenance. In addition to “Start-up” beginning in March and “Winter Close” in November of each year, Maintenance is described as at least one additional visit during the Summer months which entails replenishing the misting concentrate on an ‘As Needed’ basis along with routine cleaning of the cabinet and inspection of component parts. Routine Maintenance time required per system is approximately 45 to 60 minutes. All equipment, tools and supplies including a vehicle are supplied by the company.. Tools will remain in possession of the technician during employment with Tuxedo Mosquito Control and the vehicle will be returned to the office each evening. Routine maintenance of company owned vehicles will be the responsibility of the technician (gasoline purchases, oil changes, tires, wiper blades & etc.) and be paid for by the company. Any repairs to company owned vehicles or equipment will be reported to the Service Manager who will authorize corrective action. Employees are paid weekly with direct deposit. We are a seasonal company suspending all customer related services from Thanksgiving through the end of year holidays. Normally we schedule and resume services for a new season in late February to early March, depending on weather. Normal work hours begin between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM and extend until mid to late afternoons, Monday thru Friday. Tuxedo Mosquito Control will observe most traditional holidays. Technicians need an understanding and fast paced ability to learn smart phone applications such as Gmail, Field Routes Mobile, and other position related apps. These can be learned on the job, but a basic understanding of how to use a smartphone is required. Also required is the ability to carry 60 lbs for periods of time. Tuxedo Mosquito Control’s office is located on James Island near the James Island connector, but a Technician would be responsible for work in the greater Charleston metro area.
