Job Description
Ground Worker – Tree Services Outdoor Digs Whitehouse Station, NJ 08889 We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Ground Worker to join our Arborist Division. This role is critical to supporting our climbing arborists and equipment operators by ensuring smooth ground operations, efficient debris handling, and maintaining a safe worksite. The ideal candidate is hardworking, punctual, and eager to grow within the tree care industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with tree removal, pruning, and site cleanup. Drag and chip brush and logs. Operate chainsaws, chippers, Mini-skids and other small equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area. Support climbers and equipment operators with ground communication and rope handling. Load and unload tools and equipment. Follow all safety protocols and wear PPE at all times.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in landscaping, tree service, or outdoor labor preferred (but not required). Ability to lift 50-75 lbs repeatedly and work in all weather conditions. Basic understanding of tool and equipment safety. Willingness to learn and take direction from crew leaders. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred). CDL and/or pesticide license a plus (but not required).
Work Conditions:
Outdoor environment – exposure to heat, cold, insects, and noise. Physically demanding, requiring endurance and strength. Frequent bending, lifting, dragging, and carrying of heavy materials.
