Architect Job Description We are seeking a skilled architect to manage projects independently while also supporting others as part of a team, from proposal through design and construction phases. The role involves the production of project drawings and specifications, directing junior team members in the creation of presentation graphics and project drawings, and overseeing all aspects of the construction administration phase. You will also develop presentation materials and present to clients and at public meetings. Responsibilities Independently manage projects from proposal through design and construction phases. Produce project drawings and specifications. Direct junior team members in the production of presentation graphics and project drawings. Oversee all aspects of the construction administration phase, including submittal review, site observation, and job progress. Develop presentation materials and present to clients and at public meetings. Essential Skills Licensed or on track to become licensed Minimum of 8 to 15 years of experience in architecture. Knowledge of IBC is essential. Ability to assess projects from previous knowledge or experience. Proven track record as a project architect. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, and Lumion. Strong conceptual design sensibility. Proficiency in hand sketching and Adobe Creative Suite. Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced studio environment. Professional degree in architecture. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with
IBC 2021. LEED AP
preferred. Experience in NJ Educational or Public Projects strongly preferred. Highly organized with strong graphic, written, and verbal communication skills. Work Environment The position is within a small office environment that is laid back yet consistently busy with work, currently handling over 50 projects in various phases. The team consists of seven members, including senior project managers and project architects, with the rest being drafters. The role requires working five days in the office with typical 8/5 working hours. While there is no hybrid option, flex time may be considered.
