Pay:

Studio SFW, a Manhattan-based collaborative architecture and interior design studio, is seeking a Senior Project Architect with 8+ years of experience in high-end residential design to join our team. Working under the direction of our principals, this individual will contribute directly to the vision and successful execution of a range of residential projects. Candidates should have relevant experience in architectural detailing, project management, exhibit strong design and organizational skills, and be able to contribute to a fast-paced, creative office. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills and commit to establishing a positive and effective working relationship with all members of the project team, both internal and external. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

Strong experience with technical delivery
Ability to manage and build-upon client relationships
Knowledge of NYC code and zoning regulations; ability to interpret other applicable codes as they relate to the SFW project type
Understand contracts and run projects from inception through to project closeout
Manage project team, determining staffing assignments required to meet project milestones
Responsible for day-to-day control and management of the architectural team (design through contract documents and contract administration) as well as the client and consultant teams
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
Proactively check and coordinate project documents
Ability to assist in proposal writing and attending interviews for potential projects

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

Interface with external consultants and design teams to keep projects on schedule and budget
Prepare and develop presentations and design documentation
Produce and properly file meeting agendas and minutes, project notes, project memos, sketches, and other documents
File and track all incoming documentation from other consultants

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in architecture; advanced degree is a plus
+8 years of experience in a residential architectural or interior design firm
Construction Administration Phase experience, working with high-end residential builders and trades
Demonstrated knowledge of the design process, products and materials
Knowledge of commercial and/or residential project constructability, project costs, and building code requirements
Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar (Studio SFW uses Vectorworks for 2D drafting), Adobe Creative Suite, esp. Photoshop & Indesign, and SketchUp
Location in New York City, and ability to travel outside of the New York area on a regular basis
Experience as a Project Architect reporting directly to a partner, with the day-to-day responsibility of managing relationships with the design team, clients, consultants, contractors, and others
