At GVL – 4 Openings & At Houston – 2 Openings Job Description The purpose of this position is to provide the essentialadministrative processes, technical knowledge and leadership asdescribed below. This position has oversight of a specific projectarea and acts as a representative of the architectural disciplineensuring technical accuracy in project execution in all phases.
This is a lead position on assigned projects performing engineeringassignments of advanced complexity. Under general supervision of the Discipline Lead Architect, serveas a Supervising Lead providing guidance/supervision to otherarchitects and designers Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding technicalsolutions to problems of advanced complexity in accordance withproject requirements Develop and review specifications and design criteria Perform and check architectural analyses and calculations; specifymaterials, equipment and systems; and solve technical problems ofadvanced complexity Prepare code studies, specifications, design and detailing forbuildings of advanced complexity Coordinate technical issues with other disciplines, projectmanagement, vendors and clients Execute work in compliance with Project Quality Plan andprocedures Execute work in accordance with the approved project scope, costand schedule baselines Develop and review estimates, schedules and progress reportsincluding effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting Establish, control and report on material key quantities; provideanalysis and forecasts Provide technical support to activities associated with equipmentand material procurement and subcontracting including scopes ofwork, technical bid evaluations and review of vendor submittals Provide technical support to activities associated withconstruction administration including response to constructionrequests-for-information and field changes Other duties as assigned Basic Job Requirements NAAB accredited Bachelor of Architecture degree and minimum fifteen(15) years of work- related experience Registered Architect license Working knowledge of applicable federal (including Department ofEnergy orders), state, and local codes and standards Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include butare not limited to project management, coworkers, clients, vendors,and subcontractors Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards Ability to perform work in compliance with applicable local, state,and federal codes, statutes and guidelines Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious andtime-effective manner Intermediate computer and software skills to include proficiency inthe use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronicpresentation programs Significant experience providing engineering, procurement andconstruction (EPC) services on large industrial projects Proficiency executing large EPC projects utilizing engineeringanalysis, 3D modeling and 2D computer-aided drafting and design(CADD) automation tools in a multi-discipline environment Discipline Specific Job Requirements Advanced knowledge of: ? Building code analysis and application Architectural specifications Building planning and design Detailing of building envelopes Detailing of architectural materials and systems Proficiency in the use of 2D and 3D architectural design softwaresuch as Autodesk AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, BentleyOpenBuildings, and Sketchup Preferred Qualifications Experience with design of systems, structures and components fornuclear facilities under the requirements of

Advanced knowledge of commercial availability and cost ofmaterials Demonstrated experience managing and leading large projects Proficiency with project set-up, development of control-levelschedules, progress reporting and project close-out Practical field experience EPC project experience for the following industries: ? U.SDepartment of Energy or other U.S. Federal Government Agency Nuclear facilities under a nuclear quality assurance program Manufacturing, pharmaceutical or biotechnology NCARB certification Advanced knowledge of: Site master planning Architectural programming Conceptual design of buildings and sites Renderings and 3D visualization Sustainable site and building design Proficiency in the use of Autodesk Revit software
