Athens, AL Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for operating heavy machinery to clear land of trees, vegetation, rocks and other obstructions to prepare sites for construction, agricultural use or other purposes. Maneuver motorized heavy equipment (Bulldozers, excavators, skid steers) to ensure the accurate removal and placement of materials Assess the site and develop a clearing plan that minimizes environmental impact and meets project requirements. Follow all safety protocols and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining equipment in safety working order. Follow control measures and ensure proper handling and disposal of cleared materials to protect the environment. Ensure all work is completed according to required standards and plans Load and offload rocks, debris and other materials from heavy equipment Willing to work on the ground and perform manual labor to complete tasks as needed Complete daily equipment inspections and report any issues immediately Maintain a high level of quality work at all times Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times Aid coworkers to ensure that the site is clean and organized at the end of each shift Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks Perform other duties as assigned Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
Ability to communicate and convey information effectively Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds Knowledge of OSHA Standards Ability to obtain Arsenal Badge preferred, but not required Ability to obtain FBI Badge preferred, but not required Requires personal transportation to job sites Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required Work weekends and overtime as needed Committed to attending work each day Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
