Position Summary:

The Asphalt Crew Member is responsible for safelyand efficiently operating equipment or performing labor associatedwith asphalt paving operations, including but not limited topavers, screeds, rollers, rakes/lutes, and general site work. Teammembers will collaborate closely with the asphalt crew to achievequality surfaces while maintaining high productivity and safetystandards.

Responsibilities:

Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies andprocedures including reporting all accidents, incidents, and nearmisses to ensure adherence to our Number One Core Value – Safety,first in everything we do. Must be on site at scheduled start time and be present for thedaily huddle and weekly Tool Box Talks. Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all Middlesexsafety policies and procedures. Operate assigned asphalt equipment (paver, screed, roller,rake/lute) with precision and care, following projectspecifications and site conditions. Participate in manual labor duties including raking, shoveling,and site cleanup when not operating equipment. Identify potential hazards and assist in maintaining a safework environment. Maintain good health status and flexibility to bend, push,pull, stoop and/or twist. Perform daily inspections of equipment to ensure functionalityand report any maintenance needs immediately. Maintain a flexible work schedule to include day/night shiftsand extended hours when necessary. Understand and follow verbal instructions and project layoutmarkings. Monitor material flow and assist in achieving smooth anduniform asphalt surfaces. Maintain effective communication with fellow crew members andsupervisors to ensure seamless project execution. Assist in job site organization and cleanliness. Maintain assigned equipment in a clean and serviceablecondition at all times. Participate in daily project walkdowns prior to departure toensure all work is completed to quality standards and all cleanupis finished.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in assigned role (e.g.,paver/screed/roller/rake-lute/laborer) preferred. OSHA 10 Certification. Strong work ethic, reliability, and a safety-first mindset.
