This position will entail working with asphalt, placing it using rakes, shovels, etc., and driving a Tack Truck when appropriate. This is a dual position as a skilled laborer and CDL Driver, however the majority of this position is physical labor. This is the perfect position for someone that likes to drive a truck but also wants to be active and work with their hands. Previous experience working with asphalt or driving a Tack Truck is desired but not required. In this position safety has to be your number one priority, closely followed by reliability and flexibility. You will work longs days, however, you can expect to be home every night.

Responsibilities:

Assist in placement of asphalt using rakes, shovels, etc. Understands that this is a labor position primarily and a driving position second. Must have a clean MVR and make safety a priority. Drivers are responsible for conducting pre and post vehicle checks and communicating any mechanical issues promptly to the Yard Manager. Responsible for maintaining and cleaning the truck/nozzles. Able to properly mix tack liquids and keep at needed temperature. Must be patient, focused, and able to stay on schedule.

Experience/Education:

Class A CDL with a clean MVR and a Tanker Endorsement required at a minimum. 2+ years of driving experience A sound understanding of safety guidelines and the capacity to follow direction.

Physical requirements:

Manually lift/carry 50-100 lbs. Stand, walk, sit, kneel, crouch, or crawl for long periods of time. Ability to perform all required tasks during all weather conditions (hot/cold), and to work extended hours, as needed. •Note – Earnest Contracting is an EEO employer and a drug-free workplace.
