Asphalt Laborer Position Available In St. Tammany, Louisiana

Asphalt Laborer GLO Resources LLC Mandeville, LA 70471 GLO Resources is actively hiring Asphalt Laborers to work in the Greater New Orleans area, covering both the Southshore and Northshore regions. Candidates must be willing to travel across both sides of Lake Pontchartrain. The pay rate ranges from $17-$20 per hour, depending on experience. Typical work hours are Monday-Friday, primarily on a day shift with varying starting times.

Position Summary:

Asphalt laborers assist in the pouring, smoothing, and setting of asphalt on roads, pathways, and parking lots. The main role of the asphalt laborer is to look after the mat. This includes raking, sweeping, and lining the road, as well as working alongside the tractor, mill, paver, and screed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain asphalt production equipment, including paving machines, hot boxes, and plant equipment
• Clean and sanitize asphalt production equipment
• Establish and maintain relationships with asphalt suppliers
• Maintain records on asphalt equipment and inventories
• Procure asphalt materials, including aggregates, asphalt emulsion, and asphalt binder
• Complete all necessary paperwork, including purchase orders, delivery tickets, and use permits
• Perform inspection and maintenance of asphalt materials
• May be assigned other duties

Qualifications:

• 6 months+ experience as a laborer working with Asphalt or road construction
• 2 years of civil construction experience is highly preferred
• Willing to submit to a drug screen
