Job Summary Carries out manual tasks which contribute to the carrying out of the project for their professional specialty (road, pipelines, rail, etc.) in observance of the safety guidelines. Main Responsibilities Complete tasks as directed by supervisor in a timely manner
Maintain and clean work areas
Perform shoveling, raking, and demolition work as required
Able to work and assist others to work in a safe manner within the guidelines of the company’s policies
Operate paving equipment and/ or labor
Observe distribution of paving material along Screed and control to eliminate voids at curbs and joints
Keep screed accurately adjusted and maintain material quality
Setup Paver, Screed, and Rollers Main Responsibilities (Continued) Match all paver joints and maintain consistency
Perform several tasks involving strenuous manual labor on roads, highways, and residential and commercial construction projects; perform manual work in preparing surfaces for paving
Assist in patching asphalt
Ability to drive and operate equipment under varying working conditions
Other duties may be assigned Education High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred
Valid drivers license with the ability to maintain a clean driving history Skills Previous experience and knowledge with asphalt/paving and/or related field preferred
CDL Preferred but not required Physical Requirements Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Company safety guidelines
Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
Use hands to move and manipulate objects
Communicate (talk and hear) Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
Frequent exposure to loud noise Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, airborne particles fuel, oil, and other chemicals
Required to work varying hours, including nights/weekends, Overtime as the need arises
Must follow the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements
Proven track record working safely
