High school diploma or GED Bricklaying Masonry experience (3-5 years) Power tools Hand tools Communication skills Entry level Full Job Description Masonry Worker Job Description We are seeking a skilled and reliable Masonry Worker to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for laying building materials such as brick, concrete blocks, and stone to construct or repair walls, partitions, arches, and other structures. You should be detail-oriented and knowledgeable about building materials and construction techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to calculate materials required. Mix mortar or grout and spread it onto a slab or foundation. Lay bricks, stone, and other types of building blocks in a specific pattern. Cut and shape materials to fit specifications using hand and power tools. Clean excess mortar with trowels and other tools. Ensure alignment and structure quality using levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges. Construct walls, floors, chimneys, fireplaces, and other structures. Repair and maintain existing masonry structures. Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship preferred. Proven experience as a Masonry Worker or similar role. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings. Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions. Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, and construction equipment. Attention to detail and strong work ethic. Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
OSHA 10/30
certification. Knowledge of green building practices or restoration techniques. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
