Remove the temporary jack just enough to slide it out (after you’ve shored the beam from elsewhere so nothing drops). Stack 8 × 8 × 16 CMU blocks on full mortar beds, grout the top cell solid, and cap with a solid block or steel plate. Shim tight to the underside of the rim beam, then slowly release your temporary jack from the alternate shoring so the load rests on the new pier. Remove the jack entirely and clean out those loose bricks.
