Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fence Builder to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing and repairing various types of fences, including wood, chain-link, vinyl, and metal fencing. The role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions and requires physical strength, attention to detail, and knowledge of hand and power tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Measure and lay out fence lines using blueprints, drawings, or written instructions. Dig post holes using hand or power tools. Set fence posts in concrete and align posts for proper spacing and height. Install fence panels, rails, gates, and other hardware. Inspect and repair existing fencing. Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely. Ensure work meets safety and quality standards. Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and other crew members. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in fencing, or construction is a plus. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. Strong physical condition and ability to lift 50+ lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for long periods. Familiarity with tools such as augers, saws, levels, and power drills. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Willingness to work in varying weather conditions.
Preferred Skills:
Welding or metalwork experience. Experience operating heavy machinery (e.g., skid steers, augers). Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
