Job Description
General job duties include
- Following established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment
- Measuring, marking, and cutting lines on materials, using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge
- Assembling and fastening materials to make frameworks, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue
- Studying specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare carpentry projects layout and determine dimensions and materials required
- Shaping and cutting materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
This position will work primarily with forms needed for landscaping and concrete projects. Work needed at each work site will vary. Work is done mostly in the Walker County area. Duties include being able to measure cut and assemble forms for concrete as well as other types of projects. Landscaping jobs include natural areas as well as planned, constructed areas such as poured concrete for floors, walkways, sidewalks, and curbs. Candidate should be able to use a variety of hand and power tools, measure and build pieces needed at each job, and assemble pieces as required.
There is no minimum age requirement and no education requirement. The candidate should have at least six months of experience in order to be able to do the job. No driver’s license is required for the work, but the candidate must provide his own transportation to each job site. Pay will depend on the candidate’s experience level.
