Marine Construction Tradesmen/Carpenter (Melbourne) Dream Docks compensation: $15-25 based on experience employment type: experience level: mid level job title: Marine Construction Tradesmen/Carpenter Overview Dream Docks in Melbourne now seeking a skilled tradesman to join our Marine Construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various carpentry tasks and trim carpentry, as well as demolition, construction, and/or installation of seawalls, docks, piles, and boat lifts. Digging, leveling, lifting, carrying, framing, rigging, positioning structural components, and working with a wide variety of tools and equipment is required in this position. This role requires an understanding of construction practices and the ability to read blueprints and/or schematics. You will be responsible for working on diverse projects within the marine construction industry, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to execute projects accurately. Perform demolition, construction, and/or installation of seawalls, docks, piles, boat lifts: digging, shoveling, leveling, lifting, carrying, carpentry, framing, rigging, positioning structural components, and working with a wide variety of tools and equipment Engage in trim carpentry, ensuring all finishes meet aesthetic and functional requirements. Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to ensure project timelines are met. Assemble various structures and components according to specifications. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Participate in restoration projects, applying carpentry skills to repair or enhance existing structures. Experience Proven experience as a carpenter in residential or commercial settings is required. Familiarity with Marine Construction is preferred. Ability to read blueprints and schematics effectively is required. Previous experience working on construction sites, understanding site safety regulations, is necessary. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to quality craftsmanship are essential attributes for success in this position. Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Construction experience Current and valid driver’s license Reliable personal transportation English Speaking Ability to lift 50+ lbs. Ability to work a full shift in Florida sun and heat Ability to swim Ability to pass a controlled substance screening
