The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing glass in various structures, including windows, doors, and storefronts. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of construction practices. The Glazier will work closely with other construction professionals to ensure high-quality finishes and adherence to safety standards. The pay range for this position varies greatly depending on experience & skills. We cross train our employees to be able to work in the shop, on residential installs, residential service work, commercial installs, and commercial service work. Duties Install and secure glass in windows, doors, and other structures. Measure and cut glass to specified dimensions using appropriate tools. Prepare surfaces for glass installation by cleaning and caulking as necessary. Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople on construction sites. Perform repairs on existing glass installations as needed. Utilize power tools and hand tools safely and effectively. Follow all safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment. Assist in estimating materials needed for projects. Skills Proficiency in frame carpentry and trim carpentry techniques. Experience working on construction sites with knowledge of general construction practices. Familiarity with construction painting techniques is a plus. Ability to operate power tools safely, including saws, drills, and other equipment. Knowledge of drywall installation and metal stud framing is beneficial. Strong skills in caulking to ensure weatherproof installations. Ability to assemble various components related to glass installation. Basic understanding of construction estimating for project planning.
