Carpenter Concrete Finisher
SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking a Carpenter Concrete Finisher that will be responsible for providing skilled craftsmanship for installation of formwork, finish carpentry and drywall. Responsible for smoothing and finishing surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, or curbs to specified textures, using appropriate tools (i.e., hand or power tools, floats, trowels, screeds).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine material requirements and measure dimensions
Build decks, stairs, roofs, and other temporary structures; install shelves, setup tool trailers/conex’s, silt fences/straw bales, and setup site per erosion control plan
Hand-set forms and assemble gang forms
Concrete and rough carpentry
Hand set walls
Footings
Set gang wall forms
Structural concrete decks
Slab on metal deck and grade
Concrete columns
Drywall
Finish carpentry, doors and hardware
Set door frames, hang doors, and install hardware
Finish carpentry: toilet accessories, hand rails, corner guards, toilet partitions, lockers, upper cabinets, lower cabinets, countertops, wall paneling systems, coffered ceiling systems and running trim
Assist journeyman and foreman with shooting grades and elevations
Unload, handle, stockpile, and erect prefabricated materials
Perform concrete and rough carpentry (hand set walls, footings, gang wall forms, structural concrete decks, drywall, finish carpentry, doors, frames, hardware, millwork, and cabinetry)
Build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels; perform all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED
Minimum of two 3 years carpentry experience
Ability to work with precision, visualize solid objects from drawings, and speak and understand English
Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, and effective communication including active listening and openness to diverse input and feedback
Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
•Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
