Carpenter Residential Construction Position Available In Hinds, Mississippi

Carpenter – Residential Construction Habitat for Humanity Mississippi Capital Area Jackson, MS 39213 We are seeking a skilled and dependable Carpenter with proven experience in residential construction to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in all phases of building and rehabilitation of residential homes, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards. This is a hands-on role requiring knowledge of construction techniques, tools, and materials, as well as a strong commitment to teamwork and craftsmanship. Perform a variety of tasks related to new home construction and home rehabilitation (framing, drywall, roofing, siding, flooring, painting, finish carpentry, etc.). Assist with demolition and site preparation work as needed. Read and interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications under supervision. Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively. Measure, cut, and assemble materials accurately according to project requirements. Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and company standards. Maintain a clean and organized job site, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored. Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, subcontractors, and volunteers (if applicable). Identify potential project challenges and promptly report them to the supervisor. Help with inventory and loading/unloading of materials and equipment. Follow all company policies regarding safety, conduct, and project guidelines.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with home rehabilitation projects. Basic plumbing, electrical, or HVAC skills. Ability to supervise small crews or volunteers, if needed. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.
