  • QUALIFICATIONS

     

  • At least two years experience in general maintenance work
  • Completion of 12^th^ grade or equivalent
  • General knowledge of one or more of the working trades
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Dependability; good physical condition
  • Personal and communication skills that are appropriate for a school environment
  • Two year Carpenter certification is required.

    Maintenance Supervisor

  • JOB SUMMARY

     

  • Works as a team member to maintain the buildings and grounds of the district
  • Performs any of the following skilled, semi-skilled or unskilled tasks: carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical work, removal of trees, hauling, mechanical repair and any other work as required
  • May be asked to assume the duties of Site Operations Supervisor when required
  • REQUIRED TO

     

  • Hold a valid Mississippi Driver’s License, proper insurance and a satisfactory driving record (MVR will be checked
  • Have the ability to read handwritten or typed documents, instructions, etc
  • Have the ability to conduct verbal conversation; hear within normal range; sit, stand, stoop, kneel, bend and walk; climb stairs, steps and ladders; push and/or pull a variety of tools, equipment and objects weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Have the ability to operate both manual and power tools in a safe and effective manner
  • Have the ability to operate maintenance motor vehicles in a safe and effective manner
  • Submit to fingerprinting and a background check, as required by law for all new school employees
  • Submit to random drug testing as outlined in Board Policy
  • Assists in the fostering and promotion of a positive school climate
  • Maintains a professional demeanor during all interactions between colleagues, parents, students and administration.
EVALUATION

Job performance will be evaluated formally on an annual basis and will be based on the qualifications and requirements of the position. If necessary, improvement plans may be written at any time for any employee whose performance is not up to the expectations defined in this job description.
