Job Description Wake Forest Facilities and Campus Services offers a Monday through Friday work schedule with no travel and generous paid time off (PTO), benefits, and retirement plans. Essential Functions:
Performs general carpentry work in the construction, repair, remodeling, and renovation of floors, roofs, ceilings, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, casings, screens, wood trim, and fixtures. Operates a variety of carpenter’s hand tools, power tools, and standard measuring instruments. Makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, and selects material needed in accordance with general instructions. Saws, planes, drills, or mortises lumber for doors, cabinets, shelves, molding, furniture, frames, signs, related objects; cuts mortise for locks and hinges; hangs doors. Installs glass in windows, doors, and partitions; installs and replaces ceiling tile. Sets up and removes special equipment and staging for scheduled and special events connected with Wake Forest University as needed. May perform minor tasks involving pouring concrete and laying brick or concrete blocks.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
High school graduate plus one to three years repair and maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills in carpentry, building repair, and/or finish plaster and concrete. Skills in concrete installation and repair. Masonry repair and installation skills. Ability to understand and follow general instructions related to carpentry work. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.

Physical Requirements:
Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Fingering, Grasping, and Repetitive Motions. Visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operating machines such as lathes, drill presses, power saws and mills where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach; performing mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a non-repetitive nature such as carpenters, technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc.

Activities occur both inside and outside, subject to both environmental conditions. Worker are subject to noise, vibrations, hazards, atmospheric conditions, and oils.
