Apprentice Carpenter – Passive House Construction Building House is quickly becoming a leader in high-performance building in the Hudson Valley. We’re seeking a hardworking individual with a curiosity about passive house building to join our team as an Apprentice Carpenter. We have a growing list of exciting jobs including passive house new construction, deep energy retrofits and cutting edge new materials and building methods.

Position Overview:

This is an entry-level Apprentice Carpenter position specializing in residential passive house construction, where you’ll gain hands-on experience with fundamental carpentry and high-performance building.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle physical work including material transport, excavation, and hardware installation Learn proper tool usage, maintenance, and safety procedures Anticipate project needs and prepare tools and materials Operate construction equipment safely Maintain meticulously clean and organized job sites, vehicles, and shop areas Collaborate effectively with fellow team members and project subcontractors

Essential Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday Comfortable working at heights with proper safety equipment Strong work ethic with an endurance for physically demanding projects Detail-oriented mindset crucial for precision construction Reliable transportation, punctual attendance, and clear communication skills Willingness to work in various weather conditions Genuine curiosity about passive house construction and sustainable building
