Position Summary This position plays a critical role in the successful execution of residential and commercial construction projects by performing precise carpentry and general building tasks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a high level of craftsmanship. Key Responsibilities Construct and repair building frameworks and structures, including walls, floors, doorframes, and trim Install interior and exterior fixtures, including but not limited to drywall, and siding Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and various other construction materials Assist in erecting and leveling structural components using rigging hardware Identify and replace damaged or defective framework and structural components as necessary Operate a wide range of tools and equipment, including hand tools (levels, squares, tape measures, chisels) and power tools (saws, nail guns, sanders, welding machines) Must be a self-starter capable of working independently and efficiently Must own and maintain a reliable set of personal tools suitable for the job Qualifications Proven experience in commercial and/or residential carpentry or construction trades Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings Strong understanding of construction safety protocols and industry best practices High level of craftsmanship, precision, and attention to detail Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Excellent problem-solving and time management skills Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, climb, and/or remain in stationary positions for extended periods Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 100 lbs. on a regular basis Comfortable working in varied weather conditions and outdoor environments Capable of performing overhead work for prolonged durations Manual dexterity and physical coordination to operate hand and power tools Normal visual and auditory acuity (with or without corrective aids) What We Offer J&S Construction is proud to provide a comprehensive and competitive employment package designed to support the well-being, growth, and long-term success of our team members.
