Job Description

Position Summary:

Construct and repair building frameworks and structures made from wood and metal. Install millwork carpentry, doors, and other specialty items.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Ability to follow blueprints and building plans to meet client needs
Construct and install structures and fixtures
Ability to measure, cut or shape wood, plastic, and other materials
Construct building framework, including walls, floors, and doorframes
Help erect, level and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes
Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
Ability to work on staging above ground
Instruct and direct laborers and other construction helpers
Work in a safe, OSHA approved manner
Maintain a positive attitude
Provide a good work ethic and effort towards all assigned tasks
Willingness to learn new tasks
Share knowledge & help train others
Ability to communicate clearly with the team on the job site

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Hiring RequirementsPreferences:

Minimum of 2 years of commercial carpentry
Metal & Wood framing
Drywall
Millwork and casework installation
Doors, frames and hardware installation
Must be able to travel to the job site(s) as assigned
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Proficient at reading blueprints, or ability to learn
Minimum tools required: tape measure, hammer, utility knife, tool belt, speed square, chalk line, torpedo level, and driver index. HP Cummings will provide power tools
Strong organization skills and dedication to completing projects on time
Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
Experience with computers and technology a plus
OSHA 10 training preferred but will provide

Other Duties:

The working hours are from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Please come to the site early enough to start work at 7:00 am and be prepared to work up until 3:30
Overtime may be required at times to stay on schedule
